Ross Feller Casey adds Dr. Charles H. Bowers, Jr. to its Medical Forensic Evaluations Department

Feb. 8, 2013 - PRLog -- Philadelphia, Pa. -- Ross Feller Casey, LLP announced that a leading physician and national medical expert has joined the staff of the growing catastrophic injury law firm.

Dr. Charles H. Bowers, Jr., M.D., FACOG, FACS, whose distinguished medical career has spanned 32 years, joins Ross Feller Casey's Medical Forensic Evaluations Department. His primary responsibility is to assist the firm's 12 attorneys, one of whom is also a physician, in reviewing, analyzing and preparing medical negligence cases.

"He will certainly add to the firm's ability to analyze the most complex medical cases and will assist in uncovering the significant medical mistakes that have resulted in catastrophic injuries to our clients."

Dr. Bowers comes to the Philadelphia firm after 12 years as the Chief of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at Kings County Hospital Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. There, he managed nearly 50 physicians, nurses and assistants, while developing policies and protocols to ensure the highest levels of patient safety and quality.

Dr. Bowers graduated from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, and he went on to serve as General Surgery resident at the university. He trained in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Yale University's Yale New Haven Hospital.

His career in obstetrics and gynecology began at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City, where he was a department instructor. He was later promoted to Medical Director of Ambulatory Care. He spent the next seven years at Mount Sinai Medical Center, where he attained positions of increasing levels of responsibility, culminating as Medical Director of Ambulatory Care and Residency program Coordinator.

In 1989, Dr. Bowers opened a private practice in West Orange, N.J., which he maintained over the next 16 years. During that time, he served concurrently as Chief of the OB/GYN Department for United Healthcare System, Chairman of the OB/GYN Department at The Hospital Center at Orange, and an Attending at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, N.J.

Dr. Bowers has lectured extensively throughout his career, receiving numerous awards for his teaching, particularly in resident education. He has also published numerous articles, broadly focusing on women's health issues and more specifically, in the areas of obstetrics and gynecology.
