Moorbi’s Progress and Future Ambitions involving Sustainability!
Moorbi.com aims to establish an upcoming new marketplace for upcycled and sustainable products. We hope to integrate people into living and buying 'eco-friendly' ware and use products that are beneficial to the environment.
www.moorbi.com slogan is ‘design for all’, and the website truly is a living specimen of this phrase. The eagerness of international designers to work with us at Moorbi has been a fantastic learning experience and has been vital for the company to grow. We started with the likes of Ziggy Sawdust, Parris Wakefield, Adacta and many more, and they have carried on the journey with us, which is only to continue growing. The products range from home wares including furniture and decoration to fashion including garments, accessories and textiles. These goods will combine sustainability and design for all, allowing the customer to enjoy timeless pieces famous for their simplicity and originality. As a young team, Moorbi.com aims to bring you an energetic, exciting new company dedicated to sustainability to create incredible products for your pleasure.
Moorbi’s business idea has originated from these thoughts and points, combining sustainability, which is now a must in production, and design for all. We hope to become a place that offers the customer their own special design pieces for affordable prices, and where you are unlikely to find that product anywhere else for cheaper. We think it is necessary to make pure design the aim: making people’s lives better not mainly because of beauty but firstly because of the functionality combined with its sustainability.
Of course, the social value of these unique design pieces made by innovative designers is grand. Unfortunately, design is not necessarily for all, but those who are interested often find themselves compromising for market prices and over-valued design. Design has fundamentally become compared with art; beautiful but mainly for embellishment. So, the only possibility for the majority of people is to purchase bulk production furniture and clothing, which more or less imitate the original design pieces – frequently cheap copies that consequently after a maximum of a year have to be changed because of their quality.
Through our social media channels and working with amazing ‘green’ folk, we have been able to present the latest sustainable news and keep on current trends in the community. We have gained a considerable following of interest over the past weeks, and without this community, Moorbi would be fighting a tough battle. But instead, we hope to work with many people to come and continue to spread the word on sustainable design and news!
