Who doesn’t want a “Sweeter Life?” With timeless vocals reminiscent of greats like Natalie Cole and Nancy Wilson, Delilah sings from her enchanted Gypsy soul spinning tales and delivering the history of the Roma in the modern world with the release of “Sweeter Life” (aka “A Sweeter Life”).

The heavy-hitting producers on “Sweeter Life” include Grammy® nominated Vikter Duplaix, Earth Wind and Fire , Erykah Badu, and Incognito) on “A Sweeter Life” and “My Happiness,” along with Canada’s top earning songwriter and producer Marcus Kane/Rane Parish for “Magic” and “Queendom.” Lemoyne Alexander (R. Kelly and Aaliyah) produced “Love Me,” “I’ll Be Over You,” “Precious Love,” “Unbelieveable” and “Hello,” while Dave Sereny (guitarist and founder of the Groove United music label) produced “Tell Me” and “Love Life.” Featured artists on the CD include the Steve Wonder rhythm section of Nathan Watts and Stanley Randolph.  During the developmental stages of her US solo career, a few tracks from the “Sweeter Life” CD were featured in a CD known as “A Sweeter Life.” However, as a struggling artist on the rise, this CD never had a chance to be fully brought to life. Favorite tracks were pulled from this album with seven new songs to create the CD simply titled “Sweeter Life” that you hear today.

In another project, Delilah teamed up with the legendary Jim Peterik as writer and producer for the “Beats for You” EP, which enabled Delilah to take her talents to an extraordinary new realm. (The accolades for rocker Jim Peterik are many and includes being named a Grammy® award winner, as well as an Oscar nominee for “Eye Of The Tiger," His song writing credits are many and include “The Search Is Over," “Hold On Loosely," “Vehicle" and many more.)  For his EP, Jim produced and wrote four songs for Delilah: “Beats for You,” “Love by Numbers,” “One Lifetime" and "Fascination with Fire.”  With sexy undertones and simmering melodies, these songs mark a progressive maturity for Delilah into the world of pop music.

“Once in a great while, you find a voice with a certain ethereal quality that speaks to the soul. When I first heard Delilah sing I felt that. It's been a joy working with this gifted singer and her musician partner Dave Sereny. As her producer, I am very grateful for the life she brought to my songs. I'm looking forward to the world discovering this great artist,” said Peterik.

More about this artist:
The talents of this exotic vocalist range from jazz standards to electronic pop. Her previous recordings include releases like the light rock stylings of the “I’ll Be Over You” CD and “Jazz,” which featured Great American Songbook standards “Nature Boy,” “Cry Me a River,” “My Funny Valentine” and other straight ahead jazz arrangements. It is interesting to note that the “Jazz” CD by this emerging artist has seen solid success with fans on Spotify, which has an enormous catalog of some of the world’s most famous musicians.

Delilah inherited her gift of music from her Gypsy parents, who immersed her in performing from an early age. Touring as young child across continental Europe, Scandinavia, the United Kingdom and Eastern Europe, Delilah was immersed in Gypsy folklore and traditional Roma music. By the age of 10, she was singing and dancing with her family in a 20-member touring ensemble with one of Hungary’s noted Roma performers. By the time she was 16, she and her older brother Paul Lakatos, a guitar virtuoso, were performing with local musicians, who jammed regularly with her father and family at impromptu gatherings in her home.

Unfortunately, the joy of music was overshadowed by politics and in order to escape racial tension in Hungary, Delilah’s family moved to Toronto, Canada in 1998.  Never one to be without a song, this beautiful singer with a gypsy heritage had earned a reputation as a professional songstress in the Toronto area by the age of 19. She has continued to purse her dream of sharing her music with a worldwide audience ever since.

Currently, Delilah is choosing new music and making plans for her next album. The chance to work on these four songs with Jim Peterik was been an incredible adventure for this artist.  “It has been an amazing opportunity to work with one of the greatest songwriters of all time, Jim Peterik! His songs are so alive and ring true to my heart. The melodies and the sentiment of the songs are one with my soul. Thanks, Jim, for having the faith to let me sing and bring life to your incredible masterpieces. Your kind support and encouragement let me be myself and truly represent who I am as an artist,” said Delilah.
