Non-Profit Organization Star Bright Donations Introduces Campaign to Assist HBCU's

Feb. 6, 2013 - PRLog -- Atlanta, GA, Feb 6, 2013, PitchEngine.com – The last few years have proven to be financially tough for America’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). In reality, Ivy League institutions such as Harvard University tend to have larger endowments that surpass the combined endowment of all HBCUs. With 50 percent lower tuition than predominantly white institutions, HBCUs also continue to experience higher dropout risks.

To better serve this community, Entrepreneur and Philanthropist, Mr. George E. Bantum, Jr. has launched Star Bright Donations (www.starbrightdonations.org ), a non-profit organization dedicated to providing financial support to HBCUs by auctioning off items donated by high-profile figures such as celebrities, athletes, and other people who are recognized by the general public.

The organization’s objective is to provide a high-visibility platform for celebrities who are willing to give. Unlike the standard donation process, this unique formula promotes the “joy of giving” and presents a win-win situation for all who participate. The process is streamlined and requires the following course of action:
•   Star Bright Donations collects and authenticates items donated by a high-profile figure such as an athlete, celebrity, entertainer, etc.
•   Authenticated items are posted on StarBrightDonations.org for auction
•   Fans of celebrities, celebrity colleagues, HBCU supporters, companies, and other interested parties can bid on donated items within a given time frame
•   Money raised from the auction will be distributed to the celebrity’s HBCU of choice or the celebrity can default to bidder’s choice and have the winning bidder choose their HBCU
Mr. Bantum, the Founder & CEO, states, “At Star Bright Donations, we are dedicated to executing a simple plan; using our online auction to financially support HBCUs nationwide.” Bantum continues, “We are not only giving people all over the world a chance to obtain items from their favorite celebrities and entertainers, we are giving them a unique way of giving back.”

Star Bright Donations officially opened for bids on Sunday, February 3, 2013 with products donated by former NFL super star, Carlos Emmons and skateboard sensation, Stevie Williams.
