$30 Million in Cash Bounties Posted to Crowdsource Business Connections
It's about who you know and who you can reach. A New York startup has more than $30 Million available to be earned by anyone with a computer and an address book.
CEO Zev Posner says the goal is improve the way business networking and deals are made; specifically the B2B sales process. "Theres no reason, in this data-rich, connected world we live in, you should still be bugging people with unsolicited sales calls - or even spamming them with discounts that aren't really deals," Posner says.
The platform is not limited to a particular industry. Some bounties include:
- A company sets up industrial kitchens wants to speak to new restaurant owners. They offer a $500 bounty to anyone that knows one who is interested.
- A startup wants a meeting with Mark Zuckerberg.
- They are offering a $2,500 bounty when the Facebook founder responds to the post.
A web designer wants to meet clients and create partnerships with marketing agencies. She posted $50 for each client and $500 for each partnership.
So far, more than $30 Million in bounty cash has been posted to BusinessLeads.com. The site describes those who earn these bounties, “whether sales professionals, networkers or just someone with a LinkedIn account,” as Bounty Hunters. Anyone can sign up and earn that money, whether by sharing a post with someone they know, making sales calls and handing over qualified leads or even letting others know about the bounty and earning a cut when others make the connection.
Built by programmers and developers formerly with NASA, Google and Apple, the concept was born out of the current lead-generation industry. Posner worked with sales teams, providing them with sales lists, and the company's heads of marketing and operations come from the insurance and automotive lead-generation sectors respectively.
Posner views BusinessLeads.com as a natural progression in the ways professionals engage and communicate with each other in a world where social media platforms like LinkedIn and Facebook have made connections more accesible and searchable. “Social Media has enabled crowd engagement and sourcing to become a reality, and companies are discovering the dramatic gains in efficiency that crowdsourcing offers,” says Posner, “particularly when it comes to marketing and referrals. Social Media is the modern day golf course and everyone is a member and can enter the clubhouse.”
BusinessLeads.com allows anyone to generate the connections they need to grow their business by allowing them to crowdsource leads, putting them in touch with the clients, vendors or partners they know they don't know - but that they want to meet.
By offering rewards to be earned by anyone taking the time to intelligently match their professional contacts with relevant offers or opportunities, BusinessLeads.com allows people to generate the best kind of lead: the referral from a trusted contact.
