-- Run or walk… the choice is yours at the Sixth-Annual “Run for Your Life” Run/Walk hosted by the Palm Coast Chamber of Commerce. This popular 5K/10K event will take place Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 8 a.m. in Town Center’s Central Park. Race day registration begins at 6:45 a.m. and ends promptly at 7:45 a.m.
Whether you’re an accomplished marathon runner or a couch potato looking for a challenge, all ages are encouraged to participate. Kids are definitely welcome; ages nine and under are free, and there will be a complimentary quarter-mile kids’ fun run starting at 9 a.m. Champion Chip timing will be provided, and awards given to the top three male and female finishers, the top male and female master runners and the top three finishers in each age group.
Run for Your Life features courses for both 5K & 10K participants. All runners and walkers begin from the same starting line, and 10K runners are directed to the second leg of their course before approaching the 5K finish line. Both circuits are certified by USA Track & Field (USATF Certified Course # FL10101EBM5K and USATF Certified Course # FL10102EBM10K)
, a plus for competitors wishing to log another professionally timed race.
Register online or pick up a form at the Flagler County Chamber (20 Airport Road, Suite C). Preregistration, which ends on Wednesday, March 20, is $25 per person for the 5K and $30 for the 10K. Race day registration will be $30 for the 5K and $35 for the 10K. The chamber will do its best to have T-shirts for all race participants;
however will only guarantee shirts for participants registered by February 15. Early packet pick up is available at the chamber Friday, March 22, 2013, in the afternoon.
Light refreshments will be provided for runners/walkers after the event. Participants should enter Central Park through the Bulldog Drive entrance off S.R. 100, next to Flagler Palm Coast High School.
