Belle Chevre and Southern Skillet Vinegars Debut Seasonal Recipes Inspired by Southern Produce

Two artisan food companies have come together to offer new taste pairings using seasonal produce. Handcrafted Southern cheese from Belle Chevre partners with Southern Skillet Vinegars, whose artisan vinegars are made from distinct Southern fruits.

Feb. 6, 2013 - PRLog -- Belle Chevre and Southern Skillet vinegar, two Southern artisan food companies, have joined forces to pair their unique products in a recipe series, ‘Seasonal Chef.’ Recipes will feature both Belle Chevre goat cheese and Southern Skillet’s full line of vinegars, such as sugar cane vinegar in a warm goat cheese frisee salad and red muscadine vinegar as an ingredient in chevre ravioli.  They can be found on www.southernskilletvinegar.com.  A select few highlighted pairings will be available for purchase on the companies’ websites.

“Our mild Alabama chevre makes a great counterpoint to these artisanal vinegars,” says Tasia. “I embrace any chance to work with another Southern company who is as obsessed with good food as we are.” Southern Skillet Vinegar releases small batches of vinegars once a year, and when those bottles are gone, they’re gone until the next year’s batch is ready to be hand bottled in June.

Belle Chevre has produced a variety of internationally acclaimed chevres since 1989 using time-tested European farmstead techniques.  The company is purposefully small, and each chevre is hand made in Alabama by its passionate cheese makers. Belle Chèvre cheeses have received numerous national awards from the American Cheese Society and the American Dairy Goat Association, and have been featured by Martha Stewart, Oprah, and everyone in between.

Southern Skillet Vinegars are natural, vegan and raw fruit wine vinegars made solely from vine-ripe Gulf Coast fruits, with no artificial flavors, ethanol, or enhancers. They have been celebrated in Fine Cooking, Alabama Magazine, and in news features from Austin to D.C. Belle Chevre and Southern Skillet Vinegars are available in retailers nationwide and on their sites, www.bellechevre.com and www.southernskilletvinegar.com.
