Artist John Ross Palmer Takes Escapism to Pagosa Springs, Colorado

Escapism Founder John Ross Palmer recently hosted a successful art unveiling in the snowy paradise of Pagosa Springs, Colorado. Palmer lectured to students, donated to a worthy charity and inspired local art collectors on his fun journey.

Feb. 6, 2013 - PRLog -- After completing a successful Art Gallery Exhibition at the 2013 Los Angles Art Show, Artist John Ross Palmer traveled immediately to Colorado to host an intimate and exclusive unveiling at the chic Back Room Wine Bar in Pagosa Springs. The energy-packed evening, held on Friday, February 1st, featured a remarkable silent art auction, honored a worthy charity and highlighted many of Palmer's hugely-popular equestrian-themed artwork. Sales to the Pagosa collectors were impressive, allowing Palmer to then make a sizable donation to his charity partner, the Merry Meadows Pagosa Waldorf Initiative (TreasureMountain.org). The Pagosa Waldorf Initiative strives to generate a love of learning, creative thinking, self confidence and reverence for humanity and the natural world through community outreach, academics, arts, practical and nature-based physical activities. It welcomes all children to participate. Palmer also had the high honor of speaking about his different artistic styles, the Art Movement of Escapism and his Escapist Mentorship Program to an Upper Level Art Class at Pagosa Springs High School.

Todd Stevens, owner of both the Alley House Grille and the Back Room Wine Bar, remarked, "The excitement in the room was palatable all throughout the night! People were extremely excited to meet or reconnect with John. Our customers have admired his work for years at the Alley House; but, to meet and spend time with an artist of his caliber is priceless." Palmer shared in his sentiment, "I simply adore being in Pagosa Springs. For me, art is healing. Being in this mountainous paradise serves the soul well--and the citizens of Pagosa are unbelievably kind-hearted and fun!"

Notable attendees to the Friday night art extravaganza included Houston expats Lal and Linda Echterhoff, Karl and Kathy Isberg, Bob and Carole Howard, Dr. and Mrs. King Campbell, Dr. and Jon Zissman, Jon, Ivy and Ryder King, plus new Art Collectors Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Baker, Amy Rose and Robin Struck.
