Feb. 6, 2013 - PRLog -- In anticipation of the 2nd Annual SABR Analytics Conference presented by Bloomberg Sports and Major League Baseball,  SABR is pleased to announce the lineup of speakers for the event.

Scheduled to speak during the conference are Stan Kasten, President and CEO of the Los Angeles Dodgers; Jon Daniels, General Manager of the Texas Rangers; Jerry Dipoto, the Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim; Rick Hahn, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Chicago White Sox; Jed Hoyer, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Chicago Cubs; Bill James, Senior Advisor on Baseball Operations for the Boston Red Sox; Brian Kenny, Host of MLB Network and Joe Posnanski, Senior Baseball Writer.

“For the 2nd straight year, the top minds of the baseball analytic community will come under one roof to discuss, debate and share learnings of insightful ways to analyze and examine the great game of baseball,” said Vince Gennaro, President of SABR.

“Our business has expanded globally since last fall, and baseball has been a big part of that expansion with new projects for us in Latin America and Japan in addition to what we are doing with MLB clubs,” said Bill Squadron, head of Bloomberg Sports. “We are very pleased to be able to again assist SABR in making this event the ‘must-attend’ of any analytics and sports business conference in the country, especially if you have a passion for baseball. We are looking forward to what should be a fun and informative three days of discussion.”

The schedule will consist of a combination of Guest Speakers, Panels and Research Presentations — plus the Diamond Dollars Case Competition, in which undergraduate, graduate and law school students from across the country analyze and present a real baseball operations decision.

This year's conference will also feature baseball executives from sales, marketing and finance. These executives will come together to discuss innovative ways to analyze the business of baseball and to drive revenue. The Business of Baseball Analytics session onhmr is scheduled for Saturday, March 9.

Some of the topics we are planning to cover at the SABR Analytics Conference include:
