Feb. 6, 2013 - PRLog -- Dick and Jane had been having problems for years now. Sure they seemed like the ideal, romantic couple. He had a good corporate job, she was a freelance writer from home and they had one of those cute dogs with an “oodle” in the breeding, life should have been ideal.

However Dick was away on business an awful lot, he was often flying to South-East Asia for regional meetings, hosting dignitaries from other lands and holding court with potential clients. His weekends meant washing the car, clearing the weeds and lawns around the house or recovering from various states of jetlag.

Jane on the other hand was bored out of her brain; she was often writing articles on junior sports carnivals for her local newspaper or providing animal descriptions for her pet shop down the road. Although she loved her time with “Spark” the dog, she knew that her life was missing an energy and excitement she hadn’t felt in a long time.

Jane had begun to stir the flickering embers of resentment in her heart, “Dick has the world at his feet, yet I’m not part of it”, she lamented.

Yet Dick felt anything other than imperial. He too felt lost in the craziness of his life. The constant living out of a suitcase, the 12 hour meetings facilitated by a translator, the waking hours early in the morning as air turbulence tossed the aircraft around like a cork in the ocean. Only to be met by Jane at the front door after another international trip without as much as a “Hello”.

In summary, Dick was all out of ideas. And for a corporate businessman who travelled the world creating them, this was a big hole he was sinking into.

Dick’s only highlight each day was when he got his morning coffee from his local café. To be greeted each morning by Nick the Greek always made him smile. Nick was a naturally gregarious fellow, with a big black bristling moustache, flowing silver hair and a wide gapped toothy grin with occasional hints of gold.

“It’s a beautiful morning Dicky” exclaimed the excitable Greek.

Although accustomed to Nick’s typical morning greeting, Dick couldn’t help but smile.

“Now, I know you and the lady is having a few problems”, boomed Nick.

The smile quickly disappeared from Dick’s face, “Shoosh, keep it down Nick, geez”.

“Alright my friend, just listen. I want you to do me a favour. I’ve found the answer to love’s little hiccup” said Nick.

“Really. Well I’ll be glad to hear it one day” Dick responded picking up his vanilla latte.

“Ah, ok, thanks Nick, Great advice. I’ll be going now” said Dick sarcastically.
