Walking To Bring Total Healthcare Awareness To The Mentally Ill Underserved
The Mary Tipton Corp is holding their 2nd Annual walk to bring total wellness awareness for the underserved. This organization provides much needed serves to the chronically mentally ill, for both mental health and primary care medical services.
Many times, disadvantaged mental health consumers are also lacking in attending to their basic healthcare needs. We provide total wellness services, which include mental health care and primary care, all under one roof. Consumers are able to attend to all of their basic healthcare needs in one place, reducing incidents of sickness and poorly managed, or unmanaged health needs.
On Saturday, May 11, 2013, we will lace up our walking shoes for our second annual “Total Wellness Awareness 5K Run/Walk.” The event will be held from 8am-12pm, at Arabia Mountain Nature Preserve, 3787 Klondike Road, Lithonia, Georgia, 30038. The race kicks-off promptly at 8:30am.
This will be our first year of teams walking for the cause of “Mental Health Awareness.” Teams of five will be asked to raise and then donate $500 and teams of 10 are asked to raise and donate $1000. If a person is does not want to walk for a team, they will be allowed to walk for a donation of $25 or more towards this great cause. The funding and donations received from our community wellness walk provides the resources needed to focus on our mission. We seek support from the entire metro Atlanta community of this mission-driven day. To learn more, visit our website.
