Still Point Art Gallery Opens New Exhibition - Ordinary Everyday Objects

Still Point Art Gallery, a production of Shanti Arts, recently opened a new exhibition entitled Ordinary Everyday Objects. The gallery also announced the show's honored artists.

Feb. 8, 2013 - PRLog -- Still Point Art Gallery is pleased to open its virtual exhibition, Ordinary Everyday Objects. Gallery director, Christine Cote, says that the idea of the exhibition is to “look at the ordinary everyday objects you see every ordinary day."

The exhibition shows the work of thirty artists from around the world; over one hundred paintings, photographs, and mixed media pieces. Five artists received special recognition. Laurie McCormick of Los Angeles, California was awarded Best in Show-Portfolio for her six images that are taken from her series called Miniature Moments in My Daily Life. Leslie Parke of Cambridge, New York was awarded Best in Show-Single Image for her painting, China in the Ocean.

In addition, Irene Hill, from Atlantis, Florida won the award for Best Photograph or Digital Artwork for her photograph, Fading into the Past. Maya Gerr of Newton, Massachusetts won Best Painting or Drawing for her watercolor, Cabbages. In the Three-Dimensional or Mixed-Media category, Leyla Aysel Munteanu of Windsor, Ontario in Canada won for her piece Size 38.

Ordinary Everyday Objects remains a featured exhibition through April 30th, 2013.
