Sunset over Soldier Field
-- Stadium Journey was founded in 2009 with an initial goal of providing a review and useful information for each home venue of the teams in the four major North American sports leagues (NHL, NBA, NFL, and MLB). The scope of that goal has expanded over time, and the website published its 1,300th review earlier today.
Content currently includes reviews from 30 different countries from around the globe, featuring venues that host baseball, basketball, football, hockey, soccer, tennis, cricket, auto racing, and lacrosse.
The company also produces a monthly magazine, and recently published its ranking of the 101 best stadium experiences of 2012.
Stadium Journey Co-Founder and President, Paul Swaney recently explained the future goals of the website are to complete the current scope of work, which includes about 2,000 venues around the world, while maintaining current information of more prominent venues on an annual or bi-annual basis.
"Our reviews and ratings are essentially a tool for providing useful information to sports fans who love to travel. We want to help fans make the very most out of their sports dollar, and also provide a forum where they can share their experiences and knowledge."
Swaney went on to say that in 2013 readers should expect Stadium Journey to have reviews of every venue in "college basketball, college hockey, AHL, ECHL,CHL, OHL, spring training venues, Nippon Professional Baseball [Japan], and NASCAR Sprint Cup series venues."
