“St. Barnabas’ hospice nurses, aides and companions fulfill an important role in providing physical care and support to the patient,” said Kellie Kelly, director of St. Barnabas Hospice. “However, the emotional needs for hospice patients and their families are so great that volunteers – who often have unique, relevant personal experience – can make a tremendous and positive impact upon people going through a difficult time. That’s why we’re looking for a group of caring volunteers to enhance our hospice program.”
St. Barnabas Hospice is operated by St. Barnabas Medical Center to support terminally ill patients and their families at the end stages. Services include pain management and care for the patient’s physical needs plus counseling and support for the patient’s family members.
