Ram’s “Farmer” Ad Was the Highest Rated Super Bowl Commercial According to ADBOWL®

The ad is a salute to the hard work, determination, and self-sufficiency of our country’s farmers. It shows farmers throughout the years while a voiceover talks about the strong quality of farmers. The final shot is of a new 2013 Ram pickup truck with the words “To the farmer in all of us.”

ADBOWL® had a series of voters rank Super Bowl commercials on a five-point scale. Similar to the progression of the actual big game, the competition for the top rank started quite slowly and heated up as the night went along. Ram’s “Farmer” commercial, which runs two minutes, received a 4.2121 score. It was followed closely by Tide’s “Miracle Stain” commercial that ranked at 4.1356. Other ads in the Top 5 included Budweiser, Coca-Cola, and Kia.

Advertisements were rated on the ADBOWL® website in real time during the game and also after the game on a scale of one to five. ADBOWL® also tried an experiment, pitting Super Bowl commercials against viral internet videos of cats to see how no-cost “buzz-worthy” videos stacked up against commercials costing millions of dollars.

Two of the cat videos entitled “Dreaming Kitty” and “Kitten in Hamster Ball” landed in the top 10 at number 6 and number 7, respectively with scores of 3.5882 and 3.5849. Rounding out the top 10 were commercials from Audi, Oreo, and Jeep.
