Feb. 4, 2013 - PRLog -- PALM BEACH, Fla. – Celebrating the occasion of Hamilton Jewelers’ 100th anniversary as a family-owned business, Hamilton and Breguet held an extraordinary event at one of Palm Beach’s landmark estates on Thursday, January 24, 2013. The evening commemorated the theme of “The World of Breguet,” applauding Breguet’s revolutionary Hora Mundi World Timepiece, exclusive to Palm Beach for one evening only. Guests were welcomed with Syltbar prosecco, generous portions of Black River Russian Ossetra Caviar on blinis. Following ‘around the world’ theme, international delicacies prepared by Master Chef Edwin Scholly were paired with spirits from Spirits of the Tsars Vodka, TY KU Sake & Spirits, & Casa Dragones Tequila.

“It’s fascinating to witness Breguet’s history and evolvement. Breguet was a favourite of Marie-Antoinette, who was assassinated by the French revolutionaries and didn’t live long enough to enjoy her special gift.  More than 200 years later, here I am, a descendant of the Bourbon-Parme dynasty and proud owner of a classic timepiece,” says Prince Michel de Bourbon-Parme.

The event presented the Hora Mundi, the first example of a mechanical timepiece with an instant-jump time-zone display, noted for its beauty and functionality. While three versions of the dial are available – the Americas, the European and African continents, or Asia and Oceania - the Hora Mundi allows the traveler to easily display the time in two pre-selected time zones, instantly changing from one to the other by simply pressing a button.

Showcasing the art of the world’s finest watchmaking house, the event displayed an exhibition of rare complicated and high jeweled timepieces inherent of the exceptional expertise and peerless historical heritage of the House of Breguet. The festive and extravagant affair included a culinary experience by World Master Chef, Edwin Scholly, with international fare mirroring the story of the Hora Mundi.

“This event really captures the spirit of both of our brands,” said Hank B. Siegel, president and CEO of Hamilton Jewelers.  “An evening celebrating the long heritage and quality craftsmanship both Hamilton and Breguet have demonstrated over our storied-pasts only solidifies the strong commitment and relationship with our clients that we both strive for everyday.”

Since the company's beginning, Hamilton Jewelers has always combined the characteristics of an international jeweler with the unique hospitality of a regional family business. This penchant to bring the world's finest offerings in jewels and timepieces to the regional communities was the pioneering tradition that began with Irving and was conveyed to his son, Martin Siegel, now chairman, who joined the business in 1955. Hank Siegel, the third generation of the family to serve as president of the firm, followed his father Martin’s path in 1981 and is now the current President and CEO as appointed in 1993.  Throughout it all, Hamilton Jewelers continues to provide elegant products, meeting the needs of each generation's brides, families, and communities, while treating clients to the perfect blend of contemporary luxury and immaculate classic attention to detail and service.
