Here are some great tips to help protect you against fraud and ID Theft.

1.  Always shred documents before discarded them in the garbage
2.  Keep your internet connections private and password protected
3.  Always try to avoid providing sensitive information over the phone
4.  Always verify that a website is secure before entering sensitive information.
5.  Subscribe to an ID theft protection plan - do your research and make sure the plan you enroll in protects AND restores your identity.
6.  Never respond to an email requesting sensitive information (SSN's, CC numbers, etc.)
7.  Beware of Scam Artists emailing you, indicating that they want to send you money
8.  View your credit report, Credit Card, bank statements on a monthly basis
9.  If you are victimized, seek professional guidance for the restoration process - don't attempt to do it alone.  There is a scary difference between cleaning up a mess and making sure it doesn't happen again.
10.  Never carry your social security card, rarely used credit cards, passports, etc unless you are sure you will need these items.
