Feb. 2, 2013 - PRLog -- Brooklyn is once again moving to the forefront.  On  Wednesday, February 27th 6 to 9pm, DeZign Intervention™, an innovative networking program, presents  “FOCUS II”, featuring award winning filmmakers, Writer/Director, Dominga Martin and Writer/Director/Actress Patrice Johnson Chevannes.  Both filmmakers will showcase current film projects and projects in development, which are universal while rooted in the African Diaspora.  DJ and Musical Stylist will provide diverse programming.  The event will be held at the stylish  Brooklyn Terrace, located in emerging Downtown Brooklyn.

Dominga Martin
A journalist by trade Dominga's diverse talents span the world of film, fashion and music throughout 15 plus years in the entertainment industry.  She formed House of Ming, a boutique motion picture company where she serves as writer and director. Her film YELLOW won  “BestShort Narrative” category at the 5th Annual Hip Hop Odyssey International Film Festival. Yellow screened at BAM Rose Cinemas in Brooklyn, NY in their “Creatively Speaking Series” and will soon be released on Urban Slam Vol. 2, a DVD compilation with several acclaimed shorts.  House of Ming also produced and directed Fiche d’Identite Dominga’s most successful video production “Forever” (The Floacist & Musiq Soulchild) which has been featured on MTV Music, VH-1 and BET, and has surpassed the 1⁄2 million-viewer mark on YouTube. It premiered on to over 1 Million viewers.  Dominga is currently in development of her first feature film which is being produced by Monty Ross who produced Spike Lee’s first 7 films including: School Daze, Do The Right Thing and Jungle Fever.

Patrice Johnson Chevannes
Patrice Johnson Chevannes, an award-winning Brooklyn-based filmmaker and actress. Patrice began with THIRTY FOUR WALL, which won the African American Women in Cinema best screenplay award. During the Broadway run of The Crucible, she wrote the feature KINGS COUNTY. A month later, she made her directorial debut by producing and directing KINGS COUNTY through the company God-And-All-O-Wee Productions, which means God and all of us in Jamaican patois. KINGS COUNTY is based on a true story and has gone on to win several awards.  Her current film, HILLY AND GULLY (a popular term that suggests the highs and lows of life) is described as “an urban Cinderella story set in Brooklyn, N.Y., in the summer of 2008 leading up to Barack Obama’s historic election.
