Wagner Moll joins TBK Consult in Spain & Portugal

Feb. 1, 2013 - PRLog -- Representing roughly 8% of total European demand, Spain has a market size equivalent to Italy or all the Nordics countries combined. Spain is the 13th largest economy in the world, and its per capita income roughly matches that of Germany and France. Portugal has strong ties to developing markets in Brazil and Africa, while labour costs are competitive in relation to China.

Although the market is suffering from a major recession mainly generated by the banking and real estate sectors, the economy is recovering and growth is expected for the end of 2013.

Unemployment in Spain and Portugal is over 20% and there is a deficit on the trade balance with the rest of the world. While the perspectives may look bleak they can also be considered the ingredients for new growth. Spain and Portugal, with an increase in productivity forced by the austerity measures, must accelerate innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship in order to grow the economy, enhance competitiveness and support the relatively high position in the global value chain.
