Spirit Cake Food Truck Launch!
The cake truck is being launched March 23, 2013 which will take the cakes to the street (cakes flavored with rum, vodka, bourbon and tequila) along with some of the cakes being offered as ice cream sandwiches with local ice cream!
A Baking Renaissance…
DURHAM, NC (January 2013) – When spring arrives this year, flowers won’t be the only things starting to blossom. Chez Moi, a Durham specialty bakery, will be budding with new business thanks to its latest addition – a new food (cake) truck!
Rhonda L. Jones, the creative force behind the rum cake renaissance, will share her delightful desserts from the truck for the first time March 23, 2013, at 5:30pm, curbside at Fullsteam Brewery, 726 Rigsbee Ave., Durham, NC 27701.
Among the treats being offered from Jones’ sweet new ride will be rum, vodka, bourbon and tequila cakes along with some of these cakes offered as ice cream sandwiches!
Jones is excited to be taking her show on the road at last.
“I love to bake but my passion is in connecting with my customers,” she says. “I love to see them take the first bite and enjoy hearing them talk about their Chez Moi experience. I’m not sure if I’ll ever want a store-front so this was a perfect option.” Now that she has the truck, Jones is looking for other avenues to promote and expand her business.
“Don’t live in Durham? Don’t worry! Now that we’re mobile, we can bring the sweet stuff to you!” Jones notes. “Our truck will also be available for private events. Just give us a call or send an email for more information as every event could use a cake truck!” This food truck rollout is just the latest endeavor in a journey that began years ago.
“Helping my mom in the kitchen on Saturday mornings was better than cartoons,” Jones says. “I remember asking question after question, unaware that I was preparing myself for the future. In business since 2005, the specialty baker creates desserts for restaurants, caterers, hospitality, corporate and private functions. At present, she has clients throughout the Triangle and is on the rise for continued expansion.
Jones, still drawing inspiration from her mother’s memory, Jones is driven to infuse her cakes with the same spirit inspired by her mother. “My mother put so much love in her food,” Jones recalls. “In her baked goods especially, you could taste the love as if it were an actual ingredient.”
An active social media user, Jones often tweets and posts about entrepreneurship and being a foodie. Follow Chez Moi on Twitter: @ChezMoiBakery. Like us on Facebook:
