Contractor Helps Choose Correct Houston Replacement Windows for Homes
Many replacement window contractors choose a brand and push their preferences on to the homeowner. Their choice of manufacturer or window style may or may not be the correct window for the home. Jeff Ludy of Houston Window Experts solves that issue.
Jan. 31, 2013 - PRLog -- HOUSTON -- It's difficult for contractors to carry more that a few residential replacement windows makes and models. First of all, they have to be knowledgeable about each manufacturer they carry and each model in that line. Then they would have to have multiple vendor relationships and multiple credit lines.
Most replacement window contractors can not keep up because they are performing so many additional trades that it becomes overwhelming.
Jeff Ludy of Houston Window Experts has devised a process and a system that enables him to manage the multitude of window manufacturers. Ludy specializes in replacement windows in Houston.
When asked why he would consider conquering such a problem he answered: "Really, for two reasons. First, because it is a problem and I don't like problems going unsolved...it's the perfectionist in me. Second, because there really is no single manufacturer that has the answer to every window opening in every home."
There are many standard window opening sizes but, rather than rely on standards Ludy takes the time to measure each opening carefully. "Openings are usually out of square...you can count on that", Ludy explains. "Windows might be 1/8" narrower or more from top to bottom. Also, when it comes to shaped openings, each window manufacturers' machinery limitations are unique. You have to know who can do what shape and how well."
Ludy typically gets very large window orders consisting of 4 dozen windows in one house. What normally happens with other contractors is that they measure a large house and discover that their manufacturer of choice will not be able to make some of the windows. That leads to split orders and/or splitting an order between contractors. That spells hassle to the homeowner. Hassles with bidding, ordering, paying and then finally, warranty.
"It's all about specializing. I have spent a lot of time studying the replacement window industry and the Houston residential markets. Windows can have one of the highest Return on Investment (ROI) and the highest satisfaction levels of any other home improvement project", Ludy said. Replacement windows address appearance, safety, security and energy efficiency concerns.
When a home owner in the Houston area is looking for replacement windows, Jeff Ludy at Houston Window Experts should be on the short list to call. With his specialization in the window market and depth and breadth of product, he's sure to make quick work of even the most detailed proposals.
