Anikibo - welcome news for the independent publishing industry
Anikibo is the first peer-to-peer online marketplace specifically for independent publishers making, creating and publishing beautiful physical magazines, zines & comics. As a curated ecommerce platform it enables publishers to sell direct to customers via a one check-out process. It will launch with stock from 8 different countries from across the globe in categories ranging from photography and illustration through to kids and science.

Building an eclectic range of independent published media that you won't find anywhere else in one place, Anikibo wants to contribute towards a 'Print Revival' debate. It will serve as an avenue for people to reinvigorate a passion
for printed matter. The 'all-under-one-roof' vibe will enable publishers to support each other and the industry. For print lovers it will be an outlet for discovering new publications without the endless online searching.

To create within this medium and publish is as accessible, if not more so, as any Tumblr blog or YouTube channel. There is a thriving market of makers out there - be it photocopied fanzines, professionally printed magazines or
hand-drawn comics - and they all come from publishers who simply 'love to make'. Anikibo hopes to help raise the awareness and distribution of this craft of passion through the use of the internet.

Anikibo launched Monday 21st January 2013 [www.anikibo.com]

Launch Competition
As part of our launch campaign we will select at random one of our first 100 customers to win a monthly ‘surprise’ magazine for the next year.

About the Founder
Deborah Causton has been working in the creative and then the online industry since hot marching out of university well over a decade ago. She ran a magazine and has by-lined her professional life with various creative projects. Anikibo was born of a passion for printed material and the frustration of not being able to bring home everything of newly discovered materials from trips abroad. Spending the last 10 years building websites it was time to merge the two avenues of her creative and digital life. Anikibo is the result of this. Anikibo is a UK Limited company.
