Family Humor Author Holding Own Against Vampires, Aliens and Murderers

Readers can't compare C. D. Bonner's Southern family humor book of coming of age tales to other recent books, which is refreshing. I Talk Slower Than I Think won't make your skin crawl like The Vampire Diaries but a smile will crawl across your face.

Jan. 30, 2013 - PRLog -- Young and old alike will snicker, chortle, and guffaw at the antics of the children as their imagination leads them into mischief.

I Talk Slower Than I Think doesn't have the kind of suspense of The Hunt for Red October. The suspense that leads the reader onward is the wonder of what the kids will do next--more reminiscent of Huckleberry Finn. It's a hard book to put down.

The book isn't about blood, gore or the supernatural. It is about real life, told in true stories whose only embellishment is the polish on the words themselves. Suburban readers as young as 12 will whisper, "I wish I could do that!" and mature readers from small towns will chuckle, "I remember doing that myself."

C. D. Bonner has survived four intense weeks of eliminations in The Writer's Got Talent competition, and with reader help, will move on to the contest's Final Challenge next week.

Readers of classic coming of age tales can help this touching humor book compete against the vampires, aliens and tragedies by pinning his book synopsis on Pinterest.
