3rd Times’ a Charm! - Annual Dancing with the World International Folk Dance Festival!

Jan. 29, 2013 - PRLog -- With the purpose of showcasing South Florida’s cultural diversity, and promoting a cultural interchange between numerous “communities”, the Michael-Ann Russell Jewish Community Center/Sanford L. Ziff Campus, through its Bamachol Dance Program will present it’s 3rd Annual Dancing With The World, International Folk Dance Festival.

Dancing With The World, which takes place on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at 5pm at the North Miami Beach Performing Arts Center, will assemble a multitude of folk dance troupes, each showcasing their own cultural background, and promote the union between various ‘small communities’ throughout South Florida.

“Reuniting the best folk dance companies in Florida, our Dancing with the World program is in its 3rd edition and is the only International Folk Dance Festival on the East Coast,” explains Roger Weiger, Artistic Director of the Dancing With The World Festival, and Director of the MAR-JCC’s Bamachol Dance Academy. “This is a one of a kind event, where we have the opportunity to have on stage, Folk Dance Troupes from all over South Florida, representing our cultural diversity, and performing together in unity.”

"Brazarte," "Grupo Folklorico Puro Chile," "Coracoes de Portugal," "Live in Color," "Baila Flamenco," "Aloha Dancers,” as well as other incredible folk dance companies will join the MAR-JCC's "Kulanu Israeli Dance Troupe," "Yachad Israeli Dance Troupe," and "Hemshech Israeli Dance Troupe" in one incredible performance.

Dancing With The World will encompass two age categories- Youth: ages 13-18, and Adult: ages 19-35 and is made possible by the generous donation of Perla Sultan, in honor of her grandchildren, and the support of Miami-Dade Cultural Affairs .
