-- On Weds, Jan 30th at Boheme Collectif, in East Nashville the stunningly beautiful Ava Dahl will shed the traditional Burlesque trappings of sequins and pasties, in lieu of the role of strong woman. She will bend steel bars with her bare hands, tear phone books in two, and hold four grown men a lot in the air! “Nobody does this in Middle TN,” says producer Johnny Dellarocca, “and certainly there are no women in the area doing this type of act!” As a matter of fact, a quick Google search only found two other modern female performers in the US doing this type of act.
Ava Dahl says it really is not that much of a stretch for a Burlesque performer to make. “Burlesque is often about the empowerment of women, a demonstration of inner strength and beauty. I’m taking this one step further by demonstrating that women have more than just inner strength. They have untapped physical strength as well.”
Audiences can see Ava Dahl make her strong woman debut as part of The Magic Cabaret starring Big Daddy Cool & The Swing Kittens at Boheme Collectif in East Nashville at 8 PM. Additional acts include cutting edge magic from Big Daddy Cool, sideshow and aerial stunts from Crystal Starr, and special guest, hoop artist Louisa Hula! Boheme Collectif is located at 919 Gallatin Rd, Space 8. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. You can purchase tickets at www.bohemecollectif.com. Audiences outside the Nashville area can also tune into the live stream at www.bigdaddycoolshows.com.
