Nearly 50% of firms use Finance Transformation to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness

Finance Transformation continues to increase in popularity, as organisations in both private and public sector search for new models to improve efficiency and standardisation, and cut costs.

In a SSON study conducted in early 2012, we found that most businesses are using finance transformation to improve their operations. In fact, a massive 80% of firms believed that the key focus of transformation was to either ‘improve operational efficiency and effectiveness’, or ‘enable CFOs and finance executives to improve business performance and shareholder value.’ The clear message was that the majority did not believe the fundamental point of transformation was what has traditionally been accepted as ‘preserving the assets of the organization’ by minimizing risk and getting the books right; nor even ‘instilling a financial approach and mind set throughout the organization that would help other parts of the business perform better.’
