Is Amazon the Best Site to Find Ebooks? Hard to find Manuals, Docs,PDFs?

It has been a few years now that Amazon took over the online book market. It offers the largest selection of ebooks, no kindle books. But where do you go to find a book when Amazon doesn't have what you're looking for?

Jan. 28, 2013 - PRLog -- It has only been a few years now that Amazon launched it's Kindle. Most in the industry gave the Kindle little hope for success. This odd format, that while delivering a exceptional reading experience, has it's drawbacks.

Most notably the restrictions and difficulty in changing the format of a kindle book. Ever tried changing the format? Even worse is the printing ,that is if you are able to.

What many object to with these restrictions is that it seems with a kindle book you never really own it. Now Amazon wants to deliver their Kindle books on their cloud!

This means you never have the book in your possession! It's like you are buying a book but only aloud to read it at the bookstore! Never ever really able to take the book home with you!!

I just have an uncomfortable feeling about that business arrangement. At no point do I feel that I have actually received a book.

Most of us lend books from time to time. And yes you can with Amazon's kindle. The other person must have an Amazon account though. The book is lent through Amazon to the other person.

I searched around the internet for some ''ebook relief" ! I just want ebooks, manuals and docs that I can put on various devices that I can read at my leisure as well as print out parts or all of the book. Sometimes I might want to read where having an electronic device is not the best option, like the beach. Sure I will take my smartphone down to the beach with me but I am more comfortable reading on printed paper. This also gives me piece of mind when people are running around me wet and kicking around sand.

I looked around the internet and found a site offering traditional ebooks in conventional formats. Formats were various as well as the huge selection of available ebooks.

When searching, browsing for a book on this site you will often see a link that says '' Find Similar Free Ebook " . Stunning! When I clicked the link up came free ebooks in PDF form. Not one but quite a few. All relevant books on that topic.

Most of the ebook sites out there are hurriedly put together and usually when they have a search option all you get are useless links to eventually a pay site or more links!I decided to try this more than once. I was able to find relevant free books as well as books to purchase. It reminded me of the smaller bookstores that many cities used to have. Every one was different and at each one you saw different offerings. Most of us these days have the Barnes and Nobles for the bricks and mortar store and Amazon online. Both great enterprises. But I really like that when I searched for something the results were relevant and did not return thousands of irrelevant items.

Once a company reaches a certain size it loses it's ''local flavor". It's like the big box hardware stores. Again I certainly do business with them but when I can't find there what I'm looking for I do go to one of the local outfits. I find a different selection and often they have those hard to find parts that might not sell enough every month for a big box outfit to stock. When I go there I'm not directed to another department and from there to another. Most small hardware stores off very personalized service and if what you're looking for is made they will get it for you if they don't have it. At the big box store you get a polite ''sorry we don't sell that''.

This is what this ebook site is, a site that offers many items not found on the big box book sites. If you are having trouble finding a book on your topic or want to see offerings not found on the ''big box book sites'' try this website out.
