From The South West Coastal Path to the sunny South of France

Jan. 26, 2013 - PRLog -- Cornish-based business Château Life Ltd announces the launch of two new websites for its holiday accommodation and leisure course programmes located in the south of France.

The company is owned by Winchester-born Julia Bristow, who is now based in Sennen Cove near Penzance.  Since 2008, Julia has been offering a range of leisure courses and holidays at Château Ventenac.  This beautifully restored 19th century Château sits on the banks of the picturesque Canal du Midi, with stunning views over vineyards to the Pyrenees.  The Languedoc-Roussillon, the largest vineyard in the world, has many attractions such as the medieval citadel of Carcassonne, Cathar castles and Mediterranean beaches.

Château Ventenac is a specialist venue for writing and poetry workshops.  Château Life course tutors include award-winning poets Pascale Petit and Sean O'Brien (back in 2013 for their fifth and sixth seasons respectively), Tamar Yoseloff and the UK's first Canal Laureate, Jo Bell.  Writing courses take place with world-renowned authors including Patrick Gale, Tiffany Murray and coming soon Salley Vickers.

Keeping another close link to the South West, Château Life works closely with author, chef and writer Rachel Demuth, owner of the award-winning Demuth's Vegetarian Restaurant located in Bath.  Rachel runs one or two cookery courses at the Château every year, featuring recipes with a Mediterranean theme using locally sourced ingredients.

Julia Bristow explains “I have so enjoyed running all of our workshops, courses and retreats at Château Ventenac over the past five years.  During recent conversations with guests, I realised that we could take our successful formula of running workshops and courses to other locations so from next year we will be offering new venues for our writing and poetry courses.   I decided that it was the ideal time to take the business to a new level and change the name from Chateau Ventenac to Chateau Life Courses. I am absolutely thrilled with the new look websites and the very positive response we have had from clients old and new from around the world.”

When not being used for courses and retreats, the Château and its private gardens and pool are available for rental on a weekly basis.  Sleeping 16, it provides a haven of peace to escape to, whilst being convenient to explore the region’s attractions.  Château Ventenac is easily accessible via many airports across the UK and Ireland.  Enthusiastic guest reviews on global sites like TripAdvisor indicate that Château Ventenac "will not disappoint anyone needing to accommodate a large group."
