PODS of Chicago, EMS Moving, Loading and Shuttle alleviate moving stress for Chicago urban residents
With problematic downtown parking, business’ partnership solves issues to ‘horse and buggy’ days of moving
EMS, an expert urban moving company that understands the complexity of a city move, explains the roadways were originally built as one-way streets during the horse and buggy days, not nearly wide enough for today’s modern transportation. EMS knows that procedures for an in-and-out city move can be a land mine; trucks may not be allowed to park in front of a building and sometimes movers end up walking the length of one or two football fields. If trucks attempt to park on the street, parking permits could be required as each building has certain hours and regulations on when a resident can move. The one-of-a-kind EMS/PODS partnership is designed to address each unique challenge a resident may face, providing a simple solution to moving and storage.
One of the most unique offerings EMS provides is its Shuttle Service. When a customer needs to store their items or move out of the area, EMS places the customer’s belongings into a shuttle truck that is then transferred to a specialized PODS® container. Once in the PODS® container, items are kept safe and secure in a climate-controlled environment until the customer needs them transported to their final destination. If the customer needs access, they can visit their items whenever needed.
“The urban Chicago area can cause parking dilemmas for any moving company. We know that working with the experts at EMS helps our customers get packing and loading services done quickly and by knowing the Chicagoland buildings and streets, they save our customers money and hassle,” said Timothy Kelly, general manager of PODS of Chicago. “We look forward to continuing our work with EMS and providing our customers with moving and storage expertise and services so that they can have the ideal moving experience.”
EMS also understands the “ins-and-outs”
“The buildings in Chicago were built to look good, not to easily move in and out of,” said David Marshall, general manager of EMS. “At EMS, we know Chicago and the rigors of moving restrictions which often, with unaware consumers, can cost them money in surprise moving expenses – our knowledge can help keep that from happening. Many customers want PODS® containers and PODS can store their items and move on the consumer’s schedules. As a customer centric company, our partnership with PODS is a big facet of our extraordinary EMS moving services.”
