Legendary Broadway Actress Brenda Braxton to Appear in the NBC drama “Smash”

Jan. 24, 2013 - PRLog -- Tony Nominated Broadway actress Brenda Braxton will make a special appearance in the Second Season premiere episode of “Smash”. The NBC hit musical drama, executive produced by Emmy and Oscar winner Steven Spielberg will return with a two hour premiere on February 5th, 9pm EST.  New cast members include Jennifer Hudson as Veronica “Ronnie” Moore, a rising Broadway star with an overbearing mother, portrayed by Braxton. This role will mark the return to television for Braxton who will perform alongside Hudson in a high-energy musical number in the episode titled “On Broadway”.

“Smash” offers a glimpse into the world of Broadway theater as it follows the twisted behind the scenes journey of Broadway hopefuls. “Performing on Broadway is an experience like no other and it’s great to see such wonderful talent bringing light to the industry. I was thrilled to play Jennifer’s mother and I loved working with some of the most talented dancers I’ve met in awhile,” says Braxton. Brenda Braxton Owner, BBRAXTON Exceptional Grooming for Exceptional Men is a native New Yorker who found success on Broadway. She was last seen in CHICAGO The Musical sharing the stage with USHER!
