Follow on Google News | Dakota Dental Helps to Give Kids a Smile on February 1Dakota Dental Apple Valley Family Dentistry will provide free dental care for low-income children under age 18 on February 1, 2013, Give Kids a Smile Day.
By: Dakota Dental The nationwide program was launched in 2003 as an opportunity for members of the American Dental Association to join together to provide dental services to children in need. Participating dentists and dental care team members volunteer their time and services to benefit nearly 450,000 children. In Minnesota last year, nearly 5,000 children were served from about 200 locations around the state. Services that the Dakota Dental team donates for this charitable outreach program include preventative oral health care, fluoride treatments, cleanings and sealants, and restorative services such as fillings. In addition to Give Kids a Smile Day, the Dakota Dental Apple Valley Dental Clinic participates in events during the month of February in recognition of Children’s Dental Health Month. Dr. Wakefield and Dr. Isabella speak to schools, parenting and church groups and other organizations within the community to advocate for proper oral health care and wellness. Individuals interested in receiving free dental services through the Give Kids A Smile program should be 18 years or younger and need to have a parent or legal guardian accompany them.
