British Minigolf Players & GB Team Listed in the Latest World Minigolf Sport Federation Rankings

World Minigolf Ranking Lists for General, Senior and Junior Player Classes Published by the World Governing Body for Minigolf Sport.
 
Jan. 22, 2013 - PRLog -- Twenty-five British Minigolf Association Tour players are currently listed in the latest World Minigolf Sport Federation Rankings Lists.

The recently released editions of the WMF Rankings have been updated for General, Senior and Junior Class Players along with ranking lists for WMF member Nations.

WMF General Class Rankings
Great Britain is ranked 18th of 29 Nations.

399 players are listed in the General Class (Adults) Men’s category. Michael Smith is the top ranked GB player in 124th place of 391 positions with 951 ranking points.

Other players listed are:
-   James Rutherford at 143rd
-   Marc Chapman at tied 149th
-   Sean Homer at tied 306th  
-   James Trubridge at 383rd  
-   Richard Gottfried at tied 391st
-   Scott Lancley at tied 391st
-   Brad Shepherd at tied 391st  

123 players are listed in the General Class (Adults) Women’s category and GB’s Emily Gottfried is ranked in tied 113th of 113 positions with one ranking point.

Germany, Austria and Sweden top the rankings for Nations in the General Class.

WMF Senior Class Rankings
Great Britain is ranked 18th of 27 Nations.

495 players are listed in the Senior Class Men’s category. John McIver is the top ranked GB player in tied 238th place of 461 positions with 288 ranking points.

168 players are listed in the Senior Class Women’s category. GB’s Ruth Burke and Brenda Smith are in tied 111th place and Marion Homer is ranked in tied 145th place of 145 positions.

Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic top the rankings for Senior Class Nations.

WMF Junior Class Rankings
Great Britain is ranked 14th of 27 Nations.

195 players are listed in the Junior Boys category and Adam Kelly is ranked 73rd of 185 positions with 816 ranking points.

Other players listed are:
-   Will Donnelly at 143rd
-   Freddie Blackburn-Shaw at 176th

Germany, Sweden and Austria top the rankings for Junior Class Nations.

Players from the BMGA and the Great Britain Minigolf team will be competing in WMF competitions in 2013. The third-annual WMF World Adventure Golf Masters tournament will be taking place in England on the 15th and 16th of June and will once again be hosted by Hastings Adventure Golf. Both the WMF Nations Cup and WMF World Minigolf Championships will be contested in Bad Münder, Germany in May and August respectively.

To date 42 BMGA members have represented Great Britain, gaining a total of 115 caps in international tournaments including the WMF World Minigolf Championships, EMF European Championships, the WMF World Adventure Golf Masters, the Nations Cup and Asia Open. Peter Parr was the first Great Britain International and made his debut in a WMF Minigolf Tournament at the 1999 World Minigolf Championships, in Papendal, Netherlands.

The World Minigolf Sport Federation (WMF) is the umbrella organisation of minigolf sports associations worldwide and continental associations in Asia, Europe and America. The WMF is a member of the SportAccord, the General Association of International Sports Federations. The WMF organises biannual world championships for youth and elite players, as well as biannual Continental Championships in Europe, Asia and the USA. The BMGA Tour consists of Minigolf ranking events that take place at Minigolf, Crazy Golf and Adventure Golf courses across the UK. During the 2012 season the British Minigolf Association organised a total of 28 Minigolf tournaments around the country. This included fourteen ranking events at eleven Miniature Golf, Crazy Golf and Adventure Golf courses. There were a further fourteen Minigolf competitions played during the year and a number of additional non-ranking titles contested. A total of 22 players won a Minigolf title in 2012.
