More Using iPhone App to make appointments with doctor

Selangor, 21 January 2013 - Sime Darby Healthcare (SDH) iPhone application recorded more than of 1, 500 downloads and managed to schedule over 90 patient-doctor appointments since its first launch in August 2012. It is the first Smart Phone application by a healthcare group that allows users to find and make appointments with its doctors using iPhone.

Developed by Medeguide (http://www.medeguide.com/) Holdings Limited, this iPhone app profiles over 180 doctors from Sime Darby Medical Centres which displays key information of the doctors such as their specialties, conditions they treat and procedures they perform, along with a Google map of the hospital.  

Users can request appointments with their selected doctors by submitting a short online form or calling the hotline number directly from the app. The free app is available for download via the iTunes store.

“The app is amazing, just like having the doctor at your fingertips,” said one of the patients who has used the app to make an appointment with her doctor recently.

The impetus to develop the iPhone app was based on data that showed finding a doctor is one of the primary reasons people visit hospital websites, and that more people were accessing their website through mobile phones.

Sime Darby Healthcare Group Business Development Director Edgar Toral said that online marketing will be a major focus of the hospital moving forward.

“Our business relies on creating quick and easy access to our doctors and that’s exactly what this app does – it creates easier access.” said Toral.
