Miss Corona Del Mar Teen and Miss Newport Beach Teen Place Top 20 in Miss California Teen USA

Jan. 22, 2013 - PRLog -- (Pasadena) The beginning of a new year means the ending of another season of glamour, hard work, anticipation and excitement as the winners of the Miss California Teen USA pageant were announced on Sunday, Jan 13.

The pageant took place at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, a grandiose venue built in 1931. In addition to being known for its hosting of various Broadway musicals, symphony orchestras and world class ballets, the Civic has played host to the Prime Time Emmy Awards for over 20 years.

Among the 112 contestants participating in the pageant, our very own Miss Corona Del Mar Teen 2013, Hailee Harris, and Miss Newport Beach Teen 2013, Savannah Ellison, each placed among the top 20.

Hailee Harris, a 15 year-old Kempo karate enthusiast, placed in the top 20 in the Miss California Teen USA pageant. When asked about her experience running in the pageant, she said, “It was great representing my title, and it was such an amazing experience. I definitely plan on running again.” Hailee also plans on running for Miss T.E.E.N. United States which takes place in the spring. As far as future goals, she hopes to one day become a Special Victims Unit Detective.

Seventeen year-old Savannah Ellison also experienced success at the pageant with her placement among the top 20 contestants. About her time in the pageant she said, “I had an amazing time at the Miss California Teen USA pageant! I met a bunch of really cool girls that I know will be my friends forever. I learned a lot and can’t wait to go back.” This is just one of Savannah’s many accomplishments as she has also ridden her bike across the United States with an all juniors team called Believe and Achieve. On that trip she helped raise over $100,000 for organ donations. Another one of Savannah’s goals is to become an elementary school teacher.

On November 2, 2013, both Hailee and Savannah will be passing the torch as we crown the next Miss Corona Del Mar Teen and Miss Newport Beach Teen for the year 2014. The other titles in the competition include: Mrs. Corona Del Mar and Newport Beach for married ladies ages 21 and up, Ms. Corona Del Mar and Newport Beach for unmarried ladies ages 21 and up, Miss Corona Del Mar and Newport Beach for single ladies ages 19-28, Junior Corona Del Mar and Newport Beach for ages 10-14, Little Miss Corona Del Mar and Newport Beach for ages 6-9, and Corona Del Mar and Newport Beach Angel for ages 3-5.
