Hawaii commercial janitorial co. Kleenco begins transition to new leadership
Kleenco Corp., a 41-year-old commercial cleaning and janitorial company, today announced that its owner and president, Dan Perry, will begin transitioning leadership of the company to Scott Paul, a Honolulu business executive.
Paul has acquired a controlling interest in Kleenco, and began serving as its CEO on January 7. Perry will continue with the company, lending his extraordinary industry experience to the partnership with Paul. Kleenco’s existing management, which possesses decades of experience in commercial cleaning and janitorial services, will remain unchanged.
Paul said, “Kleenco enjoys unparalleled loyalty from its customers, many of whom it has served continually for more than a decade. This loyalty is earned every day by maintaining the highest standards of excellence and customer service. Mr. Perry and the entire Kleenco team are the best in the industry. I am thrilled to join this kama‘aina company, to have an opportunity to learn the business from Mr. Perry, and to build on his legacy.”
Dan Perry is a veteran of the commercial cleaning and janitorial services industry, and a serial entrepreneur, having launched more than 40 enterprises since moving to Hawaii in 1960 with the U.S. Navy.
Commenting on Kleenco’s succession plan, Perry said, “Kleenco has been a large part of my life’s work; its employees are my extended family and I count many of my customers among my closest friends. I am excited to partner with Scott, and I’m confident that he will preserve Kleenco’s existing business while taking it to a new level of success.”
Ken Gilbert, president of Business Consulting Resources in Honolulu, was instrumental in developing Kleenco’s succession strategy. “This will be a very powerful combination of Dan Perry’s deep industry knowledge and local reputation, with Scott Paul’s professional management skills, energy and enthusiasm,”
Prior to joining Kleenco, Paul served in various executive roles from 2003 to 2012 at Hoku Corporation, a Hawaii-based solar energy and polysilicon products and services company. Most recently, Paul was Hoku’s chief executive officer from 2010 to 2012, during a period when the global solar manufacturing industry underwent massive reductions in pricing, commoditization of polysilicon and substantial consolidation. Paul resigned from Hoku in 2012 and continues to serve on its board of directors.
