Juicebox Exposes Chicago Kids to Music, Dance, and Theater

Jan. 17, 2013 - PRLog -- Chicago area parents looking for something fun and educational to do with their kids will love Juicebox, presented by the Chicago Cultural Center (http://www.cityofchicago.org/city/en/depts/dca/supp_info/chicago_culturalcenter.html). Beginning February 1, 2013, parents and their young children can enjoy free music, dance, and theater group performances on alternating Fridays. Most performances are at 10:00 a.m. at the Chicago Cultural Center’s Preston Bradley Hall located at 78 East Washington, unless otherwise specified.

This is a great opportunity to expose young children to the diverse artistic culture Chicago offers in a kid-friendly environment. Children are welcome to meet the performers, and take part in creative, interactive performances. Juicebox features professional troupes that will introduce children to classical music, modern dance, theatrical puppetry, art and theater. Parents, guardians, or chaperones will also surely enjoy these exciting performances and it’s a great way for children and parents alike to mingle and make new friends. Spektral Quartet - Friday, February 1 - chamber music
Chicago Q Ensemble - Friday, February 15 - classical music
RE|Dance Group - Friday March 1 - creating visual images through dance, theater, and sculpture. (Performance will be held at Jay Pritzker Pavilion Stage in Millennium Park)

Jim Gailloreto and his Jazz String Quintet - Friday March 15 - jazz and classical music
Jeff Parker - Friday March 29 - jazz and improvisational guitar
Jason Adasiewicz and Frank Rosaly - Friday April 12 - vibraphonist and drummer

The Juicebox music series will begin its year-round performance schedule at various Chicago Park Districts and different area neighborhoods on alternate Saturdays starting Saturday, April 13, 2013. Locations and performance details will become available later this year.
