Ashworth College Launches Online Certified Home Health Aide Training Program

Ashworth College, one of the leading accredited online colleges, has introduced its new certified Home Health Aide training program to address expansion of home health care within the medical field and demand for those with formal, career training.

Committed to the success of its graduates, Ashworth (http://www.ashworthcollege.edu) developed its Home Health Aide training course to provide in-depth instruction to those interested in working with people who are disabled, chronically ill or otherwise cognitively impaired. Through its partnership with Direct Care Alliance (DCA), a nationwide alliance of direct care workers, employers and users, graduates will be allowed to take DCA’s Personal Care and Support Credential exam at no additional cost.

The Ashworth College certified Home Health Aide training course is comprised of Ashworth’s popular Introduction to Study Skills unit and 18 online lessons that are available in an eBook format and applicable in the real world. Each lesson begins with a subject matter preview and objectives, an introductory note from your instructor, and a vocabulary builder of new words and terms.

In addition to safe patient handling and providing care in the home, lessons also cover:

•   Caring for the elderly patient
•   Working with children
•   Infection control, cleanliness, and safety in the home
•   Basic body movements and positions
•   Skin care and personal care
•   Rehabilitation
•   Common diseases
