-- On The Wrighter, an art and culture blog; artist, writer and actress Kobina Wright interviews Thai artist and festival organizer, Golf, whose venue, the Pig Art and Music Festival, is scheduled to take place this month at Doi Suket Hot Springs.
Golf was among the exhibiting artists at Sangdee Gallery in Thailand when Circus Terminal, THAILAND landed its traveling exhibition in the city, hosted by Sangdee.
Wright was able to interview Golf through his friend and interpreter, and learned of his feelings of art school.
“He says that he studied for a while and found that colleges teach you to paint and sculpt but nothing about art management.”
In the past, The Wrighter has posted interviews with several artists such as Vladimir Kush, Camille Eskell and Nori Shirasu.
Wright is a Southern California native with a BA in Communications from California State University, Fullerton. She has written several books including “Raise the Red Teddy: A Single Mother’s Guide to Dating;” “The Hodaoa-Anibo Dictionary;” “50” and “A Crime And A Simplification of Something Sublime.” Last year her work was published by the literary magazine, Main Street Rag.
Wright recently finished an artist residency in Chiang Mai, Thailand in December 2012 and will travel to Philadelphia next month to cover and exhibit with Circus Terminal, USA at Studio B. She will also be the announcer for the Black History Parade in Orange County, CA; held on February 2nd .
