Naturewalk Costa Rica to sustainably grow world's second most expensive rainforest spice

Jan. 17, 2013 - PRLog -- Vanilla ranks second only to saffron as the world's most valuable spice commodity and it grows wild throughout Naturewalk . In total there are six (6) different vanilla varieties that grow in the protected forest reserves of Naturewalk. Naturewalk has moved forward to put this valuable spice into commercial production starting with 1500 plants planted per hectare

Says Joshua Fuks of the Naturewalk Farming Company at Naturewalk, “ We know the spice grows exceptionally well naturally at Naturewalk and we recognize that we have the right conditions for its cultivation. So its a case of producing more of it with added scientific support and research. We plan to grow it organically  and sustainably which is a plus also.”

Naturewalk combines beautiful building lots with high value agricultural commodities and the introduction of vanilla as a crop in Naturewalk is a logical progression.

Currently Naturewalk grows teak, jatropha, macauba, coffee, pineapple, nampi and tiquisque on its residential parcels.
