-- Sheffield Steeldogs are offering budding Sports professionals and keen Ice Hockey players the opportunity to study for a BTEC Sports qualification, whilst training with top Sheffield Steeldogs Coaches!
The course benefits from an exciting collaboration between the Sheffield Steeldogs, PTC Sports and Dearne Valley College, to provide prospective students with the ultimate Sports experience!
The course, aimed at individuals aged 16-19, is full-time and consists of 16 hours study per week based at the ‘IceSheffield’
venue, with an additional 5 hours per week on the ice. Students will also benefit from the expert training of the Steeldogs Coaches.
The course’s core values are to improve technique, strategy and strength, while
preparing the students academically for further opportunities within the industry.
The course will enable you to achieve a BTEC Level 2 or BTEC Level 3 Sub Diploma in Sports, with the option of gaining additional qualifications such as the Community Sport Leadership Award Level 2, the Active IQ Gym Instructor Level 1 and Functional Skills qualifications in English, Maths and ICT. It aims to equip it’s students with all the aspects needed to pursue either further study or employment in the Sports industry.
Students on this course can also benefit from the Dearne Valley College training allowance! Providing that they are aged between 16-18 years and achieve 100% attendance, students can apply for the allowance of £10 per week to alleviate any financial worries, alongside the advantages of the College’s excellent, on-site amenities, which includes a recently refurbished fitness suite and Sport’s Centre.
