Follow on Google News | Art Deco Weekend Celebrates Florida's QuincentennialMiami Design Preservation League hosts its 36th annual Art Deco Weekend festival in celebration of the preservation of our Art Deco District
This year, in addition to our famous guided walking tours and street fair, there will be an indoor Art Deco and MiMo furniture exhibit and sale which will make you “ooh and aah” and probably tempt you to add a piece of beautiful history to your own home! If you can't find the funds to carry home a table, then you will probably lose your ability to restrain yourself when you see our Betty Paige retro designs that will parade down the runway of our Art Deco/MiMo Fashion Show, and will be available for purchase in our Official Art Deco Gift Shop! And if just wanting to be entertained is your preference, then you can just stroll along and listen to our musical performances while watching our grand parade of vintage cars. In addition to all that, there will be wonderful film and lecture series that will not only entertain, but will give you an insight into all that has happened in this wonderful place--Miami Beach, and Florida in general. We assure you, this will be the best ADW yet! MEDIA OPPORTUNITIES: · 1. Artist Reception: Tuesday, January 15, 2013 – Art Deco Welcome Center, 1001 Ocean Drive, Miami Beach, Fl 33139 · 2. Media Lounge: A media lounge will be available on the Breakwater South Beach roof deck with grand view of the festival starting the evening of Friday, January 18, 2013 in time for Official Art Deco Weekend Parade on Ocean Drive. · 3.
