Standing 8 Promotion Announces Fight #1 in the Bud Light Pro Fight Series

Jan. 15, 2013 - PRLog -- Standing 8 Promotions, North Texas’ leading promotions company for the sport of professional boxing, ensures that 2013 will be a knockout year with the announcement of its Bud Light Pro Fight Series featuring a six fight card at the Hurst Conference Center. With an expected attendance of 1,900 fans, the seven-bout Fight #1 on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Hurst Conference Center will be nothing less than electrifying as local boxers go mano-a-mano in the ring. Remaining fights of the Bud Light Pro Series are scheduled for May 17, June 29, August 24, October 26, and December 7, 2013.

Fighters to watch include:
· British native “Cracking” Craig Callahan (in photo), 3-0, moved to Texas to pursue a boxing career and is deemed as a potential global superstar.
· Irving-resident Hector Vazquez is 8-1 as a pro. As an amateur boxer, Vasquez beat two-time world champion Adrien Broner, former World Boxing Organization Super Featherweight Champion and current World Boxing Council Lightweight Champion of the World. Vasquez was a 2008 Olympic alternate for Team Mexico.
· Tony Lopez of Fort Worth is 1-0 in his young pro career and 68-3 as an amateur. His first pro win was a first round knockout at Standing 8 Promotions’ Mid-Cities Mayhem in November 2012.
· Chap Huggins, 6-0-1, of Fort Worth is returning to the ring after successfully battling cancer.
