Aven ProLux Fiber-Optic Illuminator Assures Uniform Inspection Lighting

Jan. 14, 2013 - PRLog -- A new generation of reliable, high-performance lighting for microscopes and visual inspection systems is provided by the ProLux LED Illuminator, which surpasses the performance of halogen technology in multiple ways.

    This fiber-optic illuminator from Aven, Inc. consumes half the energy of 150-watt halogen illuminators and operates in virtual silence. In addition to substantially lower power costs, the ProLux model offers higher intensity, better color and longer lamp life.

    "The illuminator's reliability, noise reduction and cost savings deliver significant advantages, particularly on shop floors or inspection areas with multiple modules," says Aven president Mike Shahpurwala.     Aven's new light source upgrades ring lights for operations requiring high magnification and strong illumination, such as semiconductor and electronics manufacturing quality control.

    The ProLux, manufactured in the United States, comes with adapters to suit virtually any LED ring light, including all five Aven models. It features linear light intensity control with continuous dimming and LEDs with a working lifespan of at least 25,000 hours. They typically last 50,000 hours for years of maintenance-free energy savings.

    The illuminator has a uniform color temperature of 6000K (Kelvin), consistently producing a brilliant white color. Precision-engineered cooling assures the extremely quiet operation, an important consideration in environments with a dozen or more units.
