Dracula, the man. The events he shaped and the events that shaped him

Does history need to be boring, or can it be engaging and easy to read?

Jan. 14, 2013 - PRLog -- London, January 2013 -- Would it be possible to excite an audience with a boring lecture about some people who lived 500 years ago, in a place that only a few would be able to locate?
Probably not! Is it possible to excite them with an interesting story that unfolds in a place most people have heard of and features one of the best known household names; Dracula? Absolutely!

World resident Sir Jens has launched his first book “In the Shadow of Empires”, a non-fiction book about the historic Vlad Dracula, the events he shaped and the events that shaped him. Though it is a serious book about history, it is told as a compelling story rather than an academic thesis and is free of footnotes, endless references and, first and foremost, vampires.

Sir Jens lived 9 years in Transylvania, and was puzzled as to why he didn’t find anything relating to Dracula. Pursuing his lifelong interest in history he gradually uncovered the real story about Vlad Dracula, an iconic name known by most, but mostly in contexts that have little to do with the historic facts.

“In the Shadow of Empires” is available in Paperback or EBook format from Amazon. More about Sir Jens and “In the Shadow of Empires” can found at www.sirjens.com.
