Holly Cleaners Leads the Way in Greening While Dry Cleaning
Holly Cleaners achieves Platinum level certification with the Green Business Bureau.
With its unique “Green Clean” program, Holly Cleaners uses K4, which is the premier biodegradable, hazardous free, dry cleaning solvent on the market. As a sustainability leader in the dry cleaning industry, Holly Cleaners was the first dry cleaner in the U.S. to change its machines and start using K4. Jeffrey Davidson, President, asserts that this green initiative allowed Holly Cleaners to not sacrifice any high quality cleaning standards and at the same time become a better neighbor in the community.
On its menu of sustainable initiatives, Holly offers a hanger and plastic garment bag recycling program for customers and bales the recycled plastic to be repurposed by a plastic furniture maker. All hangers are reused and a commission is even paid to drivers to encourage them to ask for hangers back. Recently Holly Cleaners switched to Viridian Energy, which uses a least 20% renewable energy, and the company completely switched over to efficient t1 lighting. Holly Cleaners’ environmental consciousness proves that a smart green agenda makes business sense while improving the planet.
