HearPlanet's strategic partnerships will bring its service to drivers and their passengers. HearPlanet’s automotive-sector partnerships broaden its reach while serving an affluent demographic – new car buyers and purchasers of premium after-market Connected Automotive Infotainment (CAI) systems.
Today’s announcement includes partnerships with Aha, a unit of Harman International;
• Harman is bringing HearPlanet's service to drivers via their Aha platform, with rollout to consumers later this year. Aha is working with ten automotive manufacturers, including Acura, Honda and Subaru.
• Pioneer has partnered with HearPlanet to provide HearPlanet’s service to automotive infotainment system customers. Pioneer is demonstrating HearPlanet’s in-dash application on their AppRadio 2 product at this year’s CES In Las Vegas, NV.
• QNX is working with HearPlanet to bring HearPlanet’s unique service to automotive as part of the QNX CAR application platform. QNX, a subsidiary of Research In Motion (RIM), is a leading provider of automotive infotainment systems and technology.
In addition to offering immediate access to content on what’s nearby, HearPlanet offers the ability to search for anyplace, anywhere. HearPlanet’s latest iPhone release includes iPad support, user configurable alerts for attractions nearby, ability to create personal tours for offline use, category filters to narrow searches, social connectivity to share discoveries with friends and more.
Apple print ads have featured HearPlanet, saying; “Imagine a guidebook that speaks to you. With iPhone as your audio guide you’ll get the scoop on landmarks, historic sites and more – in countless cities worldwide – without taking your eyes off the sights.”
