The Rainbow Outreach Center and Inclusive Life Pastoral Services announce ribbon cutting

Jan. 10, 2013 - PRLog -- OMAHA, NE – Jan. 14, 2013 — The Rainbow Outreach Center and Inclusive Life Pastoral Services announce the grand opening and ribbon-cutting for their newly remodeled Med Center facility at 3622 Leavenworth St. on Saturday, Jan. 19 at 6:30 p.m.

The Rainbow Outreach Center, previously located at 19th and Leavenworth, has been serving the LGBT community and allies since March 1997. Its vision is to became the recognized center of value and pride for the LGBT community as a thoughtful resource offering knowledge and as a dynamic gathering place.  Committees with volunteers from the LGBT-allied community help organize a variety of social and educational activities and other programming for the center.

Inclusive Life is a nonprofit, independent, multi-faith organization that provides religious, nonreligious care and services to Nebraska and Iowa. Recognizing not everyone is part of a church or organized religion, Inclusive Life serves all without exception.

Omaha Mayor Jim Suttle has said, “We can be the city of the 21st century, but to be there, we must welcome and embrace all people.”  This event showcases a new home for the Rainbow Outreach Center and Inclusive Life Pastoral Services that is in a growing, vibrant and renewing neighborhood.

The Jan. 19 event will include remarks from Omaha City Council Member Ben Gray and from the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce. Representatives from the Rainbow Outreach Center and Inclusive Life will be on hand to answer questions and give tours of the 2,300-square-foot facility.

“Inclusive Life Pastoral Services is thrilled to be in a position to coexist with the Rainbow Outreach Center,” says Inclusive Life Chaplain Royal Bush. “We both are diverse organizations serving the needs of a diverse and growing community.”

Inclusive Life Pastoral Services provides care and services for those without a family pastor or church; weddings, funerals, premarital coaching, hospital visits, baptisms, naming ceremonies, dedications, blessings, end-of-life planning and other pastoral care.
