Huntington Beach Hospital Auxilliary Grants Scholarships to Stanbridge College Nursing Students

Stanbridge College nursing students Janice Martinez and Elizabeth Hipple receive scholarships from the Huntington Beach Hospital Silver Anchor Auxiliary to help fund their educational goals.

Jan. 10, 2013 - PRLog -- Stanbridge College, a technical college that offers Masters, Bachelor and Associate of Science degrees and diploma programs in Allied Health and Information Technology, announced that two of its nursing students, Janice Martinez and Elizabeth Hipple received scholarships from the Huntington Beach Hospital Silver Auxiliary to help them pursue their education. The Huntington Beach Hospital Silver Anchor Auxiliary is a group of volunteers who perform various service related duties for patients and hospital staff. The scholarships were awarded based on factors including the student’s goals and accomplishments in the healthcare field.

“This scholarship is important to me because it came at a time when I was considering not continuing with school due to unexpected illnesses with my daughters,” stated Janice Martinez, part-time nursing student. “Receiving this scholarship gave me the strength to continue and push through and to know that I am doing this for them and to better myself.”

Stanbridge College offers a variety of healthcare degree and diploma programs, including its Diploma in Vocational Nursing that prepares graduates to sit for professional licensure exams. Currently, the Irvine based college maintains one of the highest continuous pass rates in California on the NCLEX-PN nursing exam with a 96% five year average pass rate. The Diploma in Vocational Nursing is accredited by the California State Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians and offers students the ability to learn in professional skills facilities on campus and with real-world medical professionals in clinical facilities throughout Southern California. With over 900 students, Stanbridge College also offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Degree Completion), a Master of Science in Nursing and a Diploma in Hemodialysis Technician. Additionally, Stanbridge offers degrees in Occupational Therapy Assistant and Physical Therapist Assistant.
