Warm Concern Campaign to Help the Elderly who are in Danger of freezing to death this Winter

A Shade Greener provides £300,000 sponsorship for Everlasting Boilers Warm Concern campaign to help the elderly who are in danger of freezing to death this winter

Jan. 8, 2013 - PRLog -- Yorkshire based A Shade Greener is sponsoring Everlasting Boilers this Winter through their 'Warm Concern' campaign in order to help the elderly in danger of dying of cold in their own homes.

Every year some 22,000 elderly people die in their own homes as a result of not being warm enough through the cold winter months. Everlasting Boilers launched 'Warm Concern' with the outlook that if only one life was to be saved throughout our campaign it has been worth every penny.

Everlasting Boilers Layla Walton explained

"We have dedicated teams that are visiting homes to make sure vulnerable elderly people have heating. It's unacceptable that in this day and age we are allowing our parents, grandparents and neighbours to freeze to death in their own homes."

A Shade Greener's Directors have provided £300,000 in sponsorship to fund Warm Concern by Everlasting Boilers over the coldest winter months from January until March. Their emergency heating teams are on hand to assess and fix any heating problems an elderly person may be having with their heating.

Layla Walton explains how the scheme works:

"We are relying on concerned neighbours to call us if they find or know of an elderly person without heating. One of our teams will visit and assess the situation and try to fix any problems with the boiler free of charge. If we can't fix the heating we will leave temporary heating in place and contribute towards the heating costs until the end of March."

Every year in the UK thousands of lone elderly people die in their own homes due to lack of heating. Age UK states that we have a higher rate of 'excess winter deaths' than other countries even though they have much colder weather than we do.

Everlasting Boilers is asking concerned neighbours to call them to report problems with an elderly persons heating system. The company points out that it has already secured the funding to help and just needs the public to check on their neighbours to check if their heating is working. It won't cost the public anything and they could be saving someone's life.

Concerned neighbours should visit the company's website at http://everlastingboilers.co.uk/warmconcern/ to find out how they can get free support to help save someone's life this winter.
