Torres Named Fighter Of The Year
Atemi Ryu Jujitsu fighter Efrain Torres has been named International Kickboxing Federation Point Kickboxing Junior Fighter of the year. Fourteen year old Torres has dominated the Florida IKF PKB and is an undefeated Bantamweight PKB kickboxer.
Point Kickboxing is semi contact kickboxing with no knockouts allowed. It is judge by a ten point must system just like regular kickboxing and points are awarded for most strikes landed. It is a great stepping stone for those thinking about becoming true amateur fighters or people looking to polish their combat skills.
Torres fights out of Atemi Ryu Jujitsu. Atemi Ryu Jujitsu is a system created by Doctor Philip Chenique and is the home of the teachings of the late Doctor Moses Powell. Fight team coaches Professor Tony Duarte and Sensei Carlos Cata have adapted the street survival techniques of Atemi Ryu Jujitsu and created a method of sports combat that rules the ring.
Jay Dezmen of the IKF PKB and Promoter of Championship Kickboxing Circuit says “Efrain continues to prove that he is the best junior fighter in Florida. He has a bright future in the sport of kickboxing. I think we're looking at a future world champion in the making. We at CKC CHAMPIONSHIPS are very proud of him.”
Doctor Philip Chenique says “I am proud of Efrain and want to congratulate him on this accomplishment. I thank him for being a shining example of Atemi-Ryu Ju-Jitsu and being our ambassador in the IKF PKB and IKF events.”
Professor Tony Duarte says “I am very proud of him, his dedication to the marital arts, and to his training. I have had the honor and privilege of knowing Efrain a number of years and have watched him develop into an outstanding young man and I am sure he will be a great Martial Artist.”
Sensei Carlos Cata says “The best thing about training Efrain is his desire to better himself day and day out. He is open to hard work and accepts criticism in order to prevail. He has within him the Atemi Spirit”
